Before you get all depressed about not winning the Peerage Lottery, let The Quarter
remind you of the following
Cool Things About NOT Being a Peer
- Avoid the cost of an expensive elevation party / vigil
- There's a reason to attend Court — as a non-peer, you may get an award
- No boring peerage meetings to attend
- Don't have to worry that everything you say or do may be held as an example of what your peerage is
- Don't have to pretend to know everything about the SCA, your time period, your peerage, etc.
- Don't have to worry about getting flak if you aren't active in your local group
